Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We are writing to ask for your help, and in turn, we believe, we can benefit your business. In return for your support for our coldwater conservation projects in East Tennessee, you will receive recognition for your company’s support of the environment. Evidence this by huge successes of our previous TROUTFEST events at the Townsend Visitor Center and the resulting benefits. Generous sponsor support and high attendance enabled us to donate over $185,000 for native Brook Trout restoration in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park (GSMNP) in the past five years.

Troutfest volunteers present a $45,000 check to the Park Superintendent and Fisheries Biologists in October 2010.

Picturesque streams and mountain vistas are the backdrop for a fun-filled weekend in the great outdoors. TROUTFEST 2011 – A Great Smoky Mountain Fly-Fishing Exposition will be held May 14 &15, 2010, in Townsend, Tennessee in the foothills ofthe Great Smoky Mountains National Park. While TROUTFEST celebrates fly-fishing, the Little River Chapter of Trout Unlimited sponsors TROUTFEST as a fundraiser to support the GSMNP Fisheries Department.

TROUTFEST 2011 Fly Fishing Exposition is expected to be one of the largest outdoor events in the Southeast United States for fly angers. We are inviting national vendors to bring their latest equipment for demonstration and admiration. Nationally recognized fly-fishing experts Lefty Kreh, Joe Humphreys and Tom Rosenbauer, plus a handful of others, will be there to entertain and educate attendees. Fly tying demonstrations, casting clinics and fishing seminars will be available all weekend. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet many legends of fly-fishing and understand why they are so dedicated to fly-fishing and conservation.

We have commitments from numerous major fly fishing tackle manufacturers, including the owners of some of the companies. Here, attendees will be able to handle the latest gear and equipment. This will be a unique opportunity for everyone from novices to experts to examine, test and compare some of the finest fly-fishing equipment in the world. There will also be plenty of free seminars and events, as well as, equipment displays.

The educational tent will have demonstrations and exhibits for the whole family. TWRA, Little River Watershed Association Friends of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Casting for Recovery and Project Healing Waters are just a few organizations that are planning on being there. A variety of foods, live fish, bees, as well as, demonstrations of water conservation work and fish surveys are planned. There will also be activities specifically directed to children and young adults.

The famous TROUTFEST Cookout/Auction will be held Friday evening (May 13th, 6pm). This will be the big fundraiser party and auction. The LRCTU team prepares all food, as in all prior TROUTFEST banquets, and it is really fine grub. Tickets for a fund-raising banquet and auction on Saturday night will be pre-sold to support the conservation work. Little River Chapter of Trout Unlimited is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; all sponsor donations – corporate, business or personal - are tax deductible. Information will be kept current on our website: www.troutfest.org.

Remember, all the proceeds from this event will support our mission to “Conserve, Protect & Restore” cold water resources and watersheds in and around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and provide education programs for our youth.. We hope that you will join a growing list of sponsors in supporting this fund raising event. Sponsorship levels are $100-$349 Friend, $350-$499 Bronze, $500-$999 Silver and $1,000+ Gold.
